Salt of the Earth (1954) Director Herbert Biberman

Made by “blacklisted” Hollywood producers and actors with actual miners, Salt of the Earth was denounced and banned in many states. It is now a cinematic treasure, selected in 1991 by the Library of Congress for the National Film Registry, due to its depiction depiction of labor, race, and gender relations . Ahead of it’s time!  95 minutes.
