The Sad and Beautiful World of Sparklehorse (2015) Directors: Alex Crowton & Bobby Bass
With guest screenwriter/narrator Angela Faye Martin and others

Dancing Hoods’ Mark Linkous spent some  years in Richmond, where he founded Sparklehorse and released the album “Vivadixiesubmarinetransmissionlot”. Writing songs of rare beauty and gutsy reverberating guitar, more releases followed and the fame he wasn’t ready for found him. Juggling personal issues and creative juices, he retreated into the Smokies of North Carolina. A haunting portrait of a talented and beautiful soul. Appearances by David Lowery (Cracker), Adrian Utley (Portishead) Gemma Hayes, Angela Faye Martin and more.  Also screening Jem Cohen’s Nice Evening Transmission Down and Hi, How Are You? (animated short by Daniel Johnston). 130 minutes. (co-sponsored by Plan 9 Records)

Advance tickets available HERE. All advance tickets are WILL CALL ONLY; check in at venue. No tickets will be mailed.
